Sounds of the Engine House are a new music collective based in Manchester dedicated to programming the works of living composers.

The directors, Steven Jackson, Ben Gaunt and Eve Harrison are composers in their own right whilst the experienced performers Rachel Gilmore (mezzo-soprano), Hannah McCabe (clarinet), Dave Curington (oboe), Rod Skipp (cello), and Trevor Bartlett (percussion) form the house ensemble.

Sounds of the Engine House bring music by living composers to audiences in unusual venues such as basements, pubs and even, yes, an old engine house where we took our first steps – The International Anthony Burgess Foundation, Manchester. Our extended pool of talented emerging musicians frequently contribute and extend the possibilities of our events.

Thank you for visiting our website! Please get in touch with repertoire, performer or collaborator suggestions: soundsoftheenginehouse@gmail.com. We hope to see you at one of our events soon.
